Back By Your Side
Let's see, where have I been lately? Not on here and everywhere else. Anybody miss me beyond Suzanne who'd love to lynch me now?

Where to start? How about my last day/night at work, the 5th, Saturday? I always maintain that we have the best weather on any given day. Hot summers, warm winters. The only thing I miss is the snow. If we're lucky we get flurries. Our whole town will shut down if we get two inches of snow. I mean no sense sending the kiddies to school or the adults to work when we could all stay home and try to build powdery snowmen and have snowball fights. But any way I'm getting sidetracked as usual. ..on to Saturday. We had the two sets of double doors open at work. It was an incredible week. Sales are up! I'm happy bit worn out from smiling and serving. Yeah it gets exhausting you know. Smiling so much it feels like you're going to crack. lol On this day the wind was heavy off and on for most part. It'd be all sunny and bright then dark and stormy looking. I kept peeking out the front doors checking on things. Making sure the winds didn't get too heavy and end up turning the shelving units over on a car like a month a go. What I didn't expect was something, possibly a tornado to come through. I had just went out to pull in the units when the a massive gust went through. It pulled the door out of the hinges while I hung on to it. It was weird. I stood there holding a glass door that was barely hanging on horizontally in mid air. All the while a shelving unit rolled down the sidewalk and past my car. Then the wind reversed and it came back my way. The unit fell on my car. Thank God the wind had died down. It looked as if it fell in slow motion. It left only two scratches that later were easily buffed out. Two male customers ran up and took the door from me. They fitted it back into it's hinges. Then I had to walk around for a couple of blocks picking up the stuff we had sitting outside. Some of it was shattered. A rather large tree was up rooted on the edge of the Jeweler's property line. Once I collected all the merchandise we lost, I spent the rest of my time calling the owner and cleaning up the inside of the store where the wind had whipped through us like a tunnel. Two doors one each end of the store had been opened along with the front sets. You wouldn't believe all the leaves and sand I swept up. So we got trashed. That was an odd way to spend my last day at work before heading off on a small trip.

Oops )

Sunday morning at 4 AM we headed out for Asheville. Make the most of the three days I had off. Plans to see the Biltmore House, hike 5 miles in Chimney Rock and walk through Linville Caverns. Well we did it! Biltmore, was amazing. Chimney Rock was exhausting. I'm so out of shape. Linville Caverns made me have an affections for small fuzzy light brown bats. Oh and it snowed. Lord, it snowed. I loved it. The snow coming down was so beautiful. I think people who see it all the time don't appreciate it the way we do. lol

Sorta Depressing )

Ending on a high note... my store was #1 out of the 5! Now staying there will be the hard part. The three days I was gone we didn't make the days. So we're down $700. We made it today of course. But hey I'm there all week so anything is possible!
